Our services are designed to help customers, search engines and AI-powered search services better understand UK businesses.
SearchBritain is operated as a business in England and these Terms and Conditions apply to all users and subscribers unless otherwise stated.

- you have the authority to act on behalf of the business you represent;
- all information you provide is accurate and complete;
- you will keep your account information up to date.
SearchBritain reserves the right to refuse any application or subscription where we reasonably believe doing so is necessary to protect the integrity, reputation or operation of the platform.
Business Knowledge Hubs
We provide businesses with Business Knowledge Hubs through which detailed and structured information about their business may be created, maintained, published and distributed.
Business Knowledge Hubs may be hosted on SearchBritain or on another website, platform, product or service operated by or on behalf of us. Information contained within a Business Knowledge Hub may also be displayed, referenced or made discoverable through SearchBritain and other Services.
Businesses remain solely responsible for the content they publish.
By submitting content to SearchBritain, you confirm that:
- the information is accurate and truthful;
- the information is not misleading;
- you have permission to publish all text, images, logos and other content;
- the content does not infringe the rights of any third party;
- the content complies with all applicable laws.
Businesses are responsible for keeping their Business Knowledge Hub accurate and up to date throughout their subscription.
Verification
SearchBritain may carry out verification checks before or after publishing a Business Knowledge Hub.
Verification is intended to improve trust in information published on the platform.
A Verified Business status confirms only that SearchBritain has completed its own verification process at that time.
Verification does not:
- guarantee the accuracy of all published information;
- guarantee the quality of a business or its services;
- constitute an endorsement of any business;
- create any responsibility on SearchBritain for information supplied by the business.
Businesses remain solely responsible for all information published within their Business Knowledge Hub.
SearchBritain reserves the right to amend its verification procedures and verification criteria from time to time as the platform develops.
Accuracy of Information
Businesses are solely responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness and legality of the information they publish.
Visitors should satisfy themselves that information is suitable for their own purposes before relying upon it or entering into any transaction with a business.
Although SearchBritain may review information from time to time, SearchBritain does not guarantee that information published by businesses is accurate, complete, current or suitable for any particular purpose.
SearchBritain accepts no responsibility for loss, damage or expense arising from reliance upon information supplied by businesses.
Changes to Business Information
Businesses agree to promptly update their Business Knowledge Hub whenever information becomes inaccurate, incomplete or out of date.
Failure to maintain accurate information may result in verification being removed, content being amended or the Business Knowledge Hub being suspended or removed.
Our Right to Edit or Remove Content
To help maintain the quality and integrity of the platform, SearchBritain reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to edit, suspend or remove any Business Knowledge Hub or other content where we reasonably believe that it:
- is inaccurate or misleading;
- cannot be reasonably substantiated if challenged;
- contains false claims;
- infringes copyright or other intellectual property rights;
- is defamatory, offensive or unlawful;
- breaches these Terms and Conditions;
- may damage the reputation or integrity of SearchBritain;
- is otherwise considered unsuitable for publication.
Where appropriate, we may contact the business and provide an opportunity to correct the information before taking further action.
Subscription Fees
Business Knowledge Hubs are available through an annual subscription unless otherwise stated.
Subscription fees are payable in advance and provide access to the Services for the applicable subscription period.
All prices displayed on the SearchBritain website are subject to change from time to time.
Subscription Renewals
Unless otherwise stated, subscriptions are renewed annually.
SearchBritain may review and amend subscription prices, subscription features and membership benefits from time to time. Any revised pricing or changes to subscription benefits will normally apply from the customer’s next renewal date unless otherwise stated.
Any change in subscription price will apply from the customer’s next renewal date and will not affect the current subscription period.
Where reasonably practicable, we will notify subscribers of any changes before renewal.
Cancellation
Subscribers may choose not to renew their subscription at the end of the current subscription period.
Unless otherwise required by law, subscription fees already paid are non-refundable.
Where a subscription expires or is cancelled, we may remove, deactivate or cease publishing or distributing the associated Business Knowledge Hub and any related Services.
Suspension and Termination
SearchBritain reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account or subscription immediately where we reasonably believe that a business has:
- deliberately provided false or misleading information;
- repeatedly failed to correct inaccurate information;
- breached these Terms and Conditions;
- infringed copyright or other intellectual property rights;
- uploaded unlawful, defamatory or offensive material;
- used SearchBritain for fraudulent or deceptive purposes;
- attempted to interfere with the operation or security of the platform; or
- otherwise acted in a manner likely to damage the reputation, integrity or operation of SearchBritain.
Where appropriate, we may contact the business and provide an opportunity to remedy the issue before taking further action.
Refunds Following Termination
Where SearchBritain terminates a subscription because a business has materially breached these Terms and Conditions, SearchBritain reserves the right not to provide any refund for the remaining subscription period.
This does not affect any statutory rights that cannot legally be excluded.
Copyright and Intellectual Property
Businesses retain ownership of the content they submit to SearchBritain.
By submitting content, businesses grant SearchBritain a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, reproduce, publish, display and distribute that content for the purpose of operating, promoting and improving the Services.
Businesses confirm that they own the content they submit or have all necessary licences and permissions to publish it.
SearchBritain reserves the right to remove any content where copyright ownership is disputed or where we reasonably believe copyright or other intellectual property rights may have been infringed.
Acceptable Use
Businesses must not use SearchBritain to publish content that:
- is false, misleading or deceptive;
- promotes illegal activities;
- infringes copyright, trademarks or other intellectual property rights;
- is defamatory, abusive, threatening or offensive;
- contains malicious software or harmful code;
- attempts to mislead customers or SearchBritain;
- breaches any applicable law or regulation.
SearchBritain reserves the right to remove such content without prior notice where reasonably necessary to protect the platform, its users or third parties.
Service Availability
SearchBritain aims to provide a reliable and secure service.
However, we do not guarantee that the website or Services will always be available, uninterrupted, secure or free from errors.
Temporary interruptions may occur due to:
- scheduled maintenance;
- software updates;
- security measures;
- internet connectivity;
- hosting providers;
- third-party software;
- payment providers; or
- circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
SearchBritain shall not be liable for any loss arising from such interruptions.
Third-Party Services
SearchBritain relies upon third-party providers to operate parts of the Services, including website hosting, payment processing, software, email delivery and other technology providers.
SearchBritain is not responsible for failures, interruptions, delays, security incidents or other issues arising from the actions or omissions of third-party providers beyond our reasonable control.
Where third-party services have their own terms and conditions, users are responsible for complying with those terms where applicable.
AI Search and Search Engines
SearchBritain is designed to help businesses improve how they are understood by customers, search engines and AI-powered search services.
However, SearchBritain does not control how third-party search engines, AI systems or other online services collect, interpret, rank or present publicly available information.
SearchBritain makes no guarantee that a Business Knowledge Hub will:
- appear in search engine results;
- appear within AI-generated responses;
- achieve any particular ranking;
- generate enquiries, leads or sales; or
- improve a business’s online visibility.
Any examples, demonstrations or case studies published by SearchBritain are provided for illustrative purposes only and should not be interpreted as guarantees of future results.
QR Codes and Marketing Materials
SearchBritain may provide QR codes, verification badges, logos, certificates, window stickers or other downloadable marketing materials.
It is the responsibility of each business to ensure that any QR code, link or digital asset functions correctly before it is used in printed materials, advertising, packaging, signage, vehicle graphics, promotional products or any other commercial application.
Businesses should always test QR codes and links before placing print orders or distributing marketing materials.
SearchBritain accepts no responsibility for losses arising from the use of QR codes or marketing materials, including but not limited to:
- printing or reprinting costs;
- advertising costs;
- replacement signage;
- vehicle graphics;
- packaging;
- promotional products;
- lost business opportunities; or
- any other direct or indirect commercial losses.
Businesses use any QR codes and marketing materials entirely at their own risk.
Marketing Decisions
Businesses are solely responsible for their own marketing decisions.
SearchBritain shall not be liable for any costs incurred by a business in promoting its Business Knowledge Hub or SearchBritain membership.
If SearchBritain changes, suspends or permanently discontinues any feature or the Services, businesses remain responsible for any costs associated with updating, replacing or removing their own marketing materials.
Changes to the Service
SearchBritain continually develops and improves its Services.
We reserve the right to modify, replace, suspend or discontinue any feature, functionality or aspect of the Services where reasonably necessary for operational, commercial, technical or legal reasons.
We will endeavour to provide reasonable notice of significant changes where practicable.
We may develop, rename, restructure, migrate or change the technology, website, domain, brand, product or platform used to provide Business Knowledge Hubs or other Services.
This may include moving a Business Knowledge Hub to another website, domain or platform, or making Business Knowledge Hub information available through additional Services.
Where such changes affect an active paid Subscription, we will aim to ensure that the overall core benefits of that Subscription are not materially reduced during its current subscription period.
Communications and Related Services
By creating an account or subscribing to SearchBritain, you agree that we may contact you regarding:
- your account;
- your subscription;
- renewals;
- security notices;
- service updates;
- changes to these Terms; and
- other communications necessary for the operation of the Services.
Subject to applicable data protection and electronic marketing laws, SearchBritain may also send information about products, services, offers and opportunities that we believe may be relevant to your business.
These communications may relate to SearchBritain and to other businesses, websites, platforms or services owned, operated or managed by us.
Recipients may opt out of marketing communications at any time using the unsubscribe link included within our emails or by contacting us directly.
Service-related communications that are necessary for the administration of your account cannot be opted out of while your account remains active.
Website Use
Visitors use the SearchBritain website and the information published on it at their own discretion.
Whilst SearchBritain aims to provide a useful and reliable platform, we do not guarantee that all information published by businesses will be accurate, complete, current or suitable for any particular purpose.
Anyone relying upon information published within a Business Knowledge Hub should make their own enquiries before entering into any commercial relationship or making business decisions.
SearchBritain accepts no responsibility for any loss, damage or inconvenience arising from reliance upon information published by businesses on the platform.

SearchBritain’s total liability arising from or in connection with the Services shall not exceed the total subscription fees paid by the subscriber during the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

- information supplied by the business;
- copyright infringement;
- intellectual property disputes;
- unlawful content;
- defamatory content;

This clause does not require a business to indemnify SearchBritain for losses caused solely by SearchBritain’s own negligence or wrongful acts.

These events may include, but are not limited to:

SearchBritain may introduce new products, subscription tiers, optional features, integrations, partner services or other functionality from time to time.
The availability of any feature or service may change without notice where reasonably necessary for operational, commercial or legal reasons.

SearchBritain may transfer or assign its rights and obligations under these Terms and Conditions to another business in connection with a business sale, merger, restructuring or transfer of ownership.
Your rights under these Terms will not be adversely affected by such a transfer.
Subscribers may not assign or transfer their rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent.
Entire Agreement
These Terms and Conditions, together with our Privacy Policy and any other documents specifically referred to within them, constitute the entire agreement between SearchBritain and the subscriber in relation to the Services.
They replace any previous discussions, representations or understandings relating to the Services.
No Waiver
If SearchBritain chooses not to enforce any provision of these Terms on one occasion, this shall not prevent us from enforcing that provision or any other provision at a later date.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found by a court of competent jurisdiction to be unlawful, invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be treated as severed from the remaining Terms.
The remainder of these Terms shall continue in full force and effect.
Changes to these Terms and Conditions
SearchBritain may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time.
The latest version will always be published on this page together with the date it was last updated.
Where changes are significant, we will endeavour to provide reasonable notice to subscribers before the changes take effect.
